Q: How much is shipping?

A: US shipping on all orders is free. We ship via US Postal Service utilizing First Class Package Service with tracking for small items and Priority Mail service for larger items. Please make sure your address is accurate and complete and approved by the USPS. PO Boxes are fine.

Q: I don’t see my country in the shipping choices, do you ship to…?

A: We are no longer shipping internationally from this site. If you live outside the US and wish to purchase a MotoPumps® product, you can find an international parcel forwarding service based in the US and we will ship to them for free. They will be solely responsible for shipping your order for you, all paperwork, taxes, duties, fees, tracking info, etc. A number of customers have used Stackry and had a good experience. https://www.stackry.com/en

Q: Why choose a MotoPump over an inflator you can find in Walmart or your local auto parts store?

A: The MotoPump line is made to be the smallest, lightest, best performing 12v inflators on the market. They have features specific to the needs of the motorcyclist— choice of multiple air chucks, multiple power cords (Cig/BMW style convertible connector, battery clips, SAE connectors on main power cords and battery ring terminal to SAE plugs) sized to pack easily, but long enough to easily reach both ends of the bike. They are tough, easy to use, durable and reliable. MotoPumps are designed by a rider, for riders.

Q: When will you have MotoPumps® Air Shots and Mini pros again?

A: Due to unfortunate global circumstances beyond our control, we are out of the original Air Shot inflators and Mini Pro inflators are permanently out of production. Between issues at the factory due to COVID-19, staffing, quality control and the 25% Trump tariffs, not to mention 400% increases in shipping costs, we will probably not be resupplying the original MotoPumps® Air Shots. Air Shot 2.0!

UPDATE September 2021 - The new MotoPumps® Air Shot 2.0 is here and shipping. The Air Shot 2.0 is made here in our shop in Upstate NY with the support of many local vendors. Our entire line of products is now made in the USA, most of them here in Upstate NY. We are engaged with an injection molding company in Pennsylvania and an engineering company also in Pennsylvania, just outside of Philly. The goal of the project has been realized, with an inflator with great performance, superior reliability, high quality, durability, ease of use and the options you need to get you back on the road or trail when you have a low tire, flat tire or just want to be able to air up and down for your moto adventures. They are even better when used to garner hero points with other stranded riders. See the new MotoPumps® Air Shot 2.0 in action on our landing page. Click here to see more detail and purchase.

Q: How long will it take a MotoPump to inflate my tire?

A: That depends on your tire size and pressure needed. The Air Shot 2.0 will inflate an average motorcycle tire to 42 PSI in about 3.5-4 minutes. They add about 15 psi per minute when airing up a typical motorcycle or ATV tire. The Air Shot 2.0 will inflate a Neutech TUBliss chamber to 110 psi in about a minute. The MotoPumps® Air Shot 2.0 is not intended for large or high pressure truck tires.

Q: What is the maximum run time for a MotoPump before it needs to be shut off to cool down?

A: There is no maximum run time for either the MotoPumps® Air Shot 2.0 or Classic inflators. They are intended for use in the powersports market and will inflate motorcycle, ATV, UTV, SXS and other similar tires in 5 mintues or less.

Q: What is the warranty for the MotoPump?

A: Both the MotoPumps® Classic and Air Shot 2.0 have a 5 year, no BS warranty. Unless you have modified the pump or obviously abused and misused it, we will repair or replace any MotoPump that fails within 5 years of your date of purchase. Abuse includes running the MotoPump in the dirt. This is a precision piece of equipment that needs to be treated as such to provide the intended utility and performance. You wouldn’t let your motorcycle suck dirt into the intake, don’t let your MotoPump run in dirty, wet or dusty conditions. Use the included lanyard to hang the inflator off a footpeg or hold it in your hand while in use.

Q: Does my vehicle have to be running to while I am using the MotoPump?

A: No, unless your battery is nearly dead, you don’t need to have the vehicle running while you are using the MotoPump to inflate your tire. The Air Shot 2.0 draws about 7.5 amps under load and will run for more than an hour before a 10 amp hour battery is depleted. With an average inflation time of about 5 minutes, this is not an issue. If you do choose to have your vehicle running during inflation, the pump will run a bit faster due to the higher voltage at your battery, so your inflation time will be reduced.

Q: How much power does the MotoPump draw?

A: The Classic MotoPump draws a maximum of 10 amps under load and Air Shot 2.0 draws about 7.5 amps at 50 PSI.

Q: Will the MotoPump work on my CAN BUS controlled power outlet?

A: No. While we have seen a few bikes where the CAN BUS controlled power outlet would provide enough power at first, most are set to allow only up to 5 amps draw at 12 volts. What the user experiences is a a pump that will start and run for a moment, then the CAN BUS controller shuts down the power outlet and the user calls us saying the pump is defective. The pump is fine, it is the CAN BUS controller that is not cooperating. No worries, we include many connector options to allow you to power your MotoPump regardless of the mood of your CAN BUS controller.

Q: What connectors are included with the MotoPumps Air Shot2.0 and Classic inflator kit?

A: The Air Shot 2.0 and Classic kits come with a main SAE power cord, a CIG/BMW style cable, battery clips and battery ring terminals to SAE cord to install on your battery for long term use.

Q: Will the MotoPump seat the tire bead on a flat tire?

A: That depends. If the tire is holding air and it is just a matter of pressure, yes, most likely it will. If the tire is cold, deformed and not seated on the side of the bead, no 12 volt inflator can make enough volume to seat the bead. I have had excellent success seating the bead of motorcycle tires using a bit of “windex” or other visor cleaners. The liquid helps the bead seal, slide and dries without any slippery residue. I always have a little spray bottle in my kit to clean my visor, glasses or goggles.

Q: Will the MotoPump air chucks fit the Presta valve on my bicycle?

A: No, Schrader and Presta are different sizes. We do stock a small number of Schrader to Presta conversion fittings. Let us know if you need one.

Q: Does the MotoPump shut off when it reaches a pre-set pressure?

A: No. Both MotoPumps models require the operator to turn the unit on and off when the desired pressure is reached.

Q: Is there any maintenance required with the MotoPump?

A: No. Both the Air Shot and Mini Pro are maintenance free. Just keep them in their cases when not in use, clean and dry and they will provide years of trouble free service. DO NOT RUN THEM IN THE DIRT! If you MotoPump becomes wet or dusty, blow it out with compressed air, let it dry and use as normal. If you would like us to examine or service your MotoPump, return it to us and we will take care of you.

Q: What gauge is the wire in the MotoPumps accessory connectors?

A: 18 Gauge wire is used in our connectors. It will support more than 20 amps at 12 volts, leaving you plenty of head room.

Q: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VARIOUS DYNAPLUG TOOLS?

All the Dynaplug models are made in the USA sand have a lifetime warranty. The least expensive model is the Ultralite Carbon, the most expensive is the Xtreme Stainless. The plugs and insertion tubes are the same for all.

The difference between the Ultralite Carbon and Aluminum is the material of the handle and number of plugs. The Carbon is nylon reinforced nylon. It is less expensive to produce, slightly lighter weight but essentially as strong. The Carbon comes with 3 plugs, the aluminum 4. The Xtreme Ultralite (Aluminum) has a larger handle and 4 plugs.

The Pro tools come with 8 plugs, extra stainless insertion tubes and two extra tools, a clearing tool and air stopper. Both of those tools are available separately if desired. The clearing tool allows you to remove foreign objects from a tire before plugging if needed. The air stopper allows you to temporarily plug a hole, understand its angle and air up the tire before plugging. This makes it easier as the tire doesn't collapse while plugging it if aired up.

Check out the video in the Dynaplug section. In that video, I am plugging the front tire of my KTM 1290 SA while on a trip to Tennessee. That is the Pro Aluminum tool, my favorite because of its balance of light weight, small size and having all the tools. In each model, the plugs, insertion tubes and tools store in the handle.

Troubleshooting

Q: I plugged in my MotoPumps Mini Pro and it is dead, no lights, won’t run. Toggling the power switch does nothing.

A: Pull ALL of the cables out of the back of the cord storage compartment. Let me repeat that. Pull ALL of the cables out of the back of the MotoPump. There is both a main power cable and the Cig/BMW style plug terminated in an SAE connector. You were plugged into the SAE end of the Cig/BMW extension, not the MotoPump.

Q: I plugged my MotoPump into the existing Battery Tender Tail that was installed on my vehicle. The MotoPump ran for a moment, then stopped. Now it won’t run at all.

A: Check the fuse on the existing Battery Tender Tail. Some Battery Tender cables were supplied with a 2.5 amp fuse from the Deltran factory. The MotoPump draws about 5 amps and most likely blew that fuse. Upgrade that fuse to a 10-20 amp fuse and you will be back in business.

Q: My MotoPump still won’t run. No lights, nothing.

A: Try the MotoPump in another power source. Another vehicle’s cig lighter receptacle, use the battery clips to go directly to the battery terminals.

Q: I plugged in my MotoPumps Mini Pro and the red polarity indicator lit up and the pump won’t run.

A: The polarity of your power source is reversed. The Mini Pro has polarity protection so the pump’s electronics won’t be damaged by a reverse polarity power source.

Q: I don’t see my problem addressed here.

A: Send an email to sales@motopumps.com or use the contact form and describe your issue in as much detail as possible.
